Career Experience
I have a very vast array of career experience. Most related, though, is my current work as a writing tutor (which tends to encompass proofreading and editing, too). I review papers at the college level and dissertations at the graduate and doctoral levels. Among things that are checked for are grammar, format, flow, structure, content, and punctuation. I have been in this specific field for approximately 5 years. Prior to this, I was a behavioral research psychologist for the US Naval Research Laboratory. I have more than 9 years of specialized practice in creating and conducting government scientific research studies. I completed advanced qualitative analysis, interpreting the data as well as writing, reviewing and editing extensive scientific research reports (to include other colleagues' work) and presenting findings to senior government officials. The specific fields I worked in were deception detection, suspicious behavior, and terrorism, thus utilizing my education and experience in psychology and criminology. A fun fact is that I was nominated for the US Navy's Top Scientist of the Year! Additionally, I was a certified human factors analyst profiler for a government client where I wrote and disseminated 4 behavioral profiles as well as conducted intelligence and counterintelligence analysis to aid in international efforts and social networking. I was able to use my skills in writing, psychology, sociology, criminology, and research in this position.
I Love Tutoring Because
I enjoy helping people and watching the progress a student makes, often moving from confusion and frustration to enlightenment and a greater sense of self-worth. Moreover, I find tutoring to be a good way to learn about a multitude of subjects and viewpoints while helping students discover the means to make their paper top notch! I like working with others and being able to help the student get from point A to point B on their own, with some assistance of course. Teaching is a rewarding field and one that I love.
